My Story

I’m 100% Chinese, born in Vietnam, and came to the United States when I was 6 years old.  I’m the oldest of 5…with 3 brothers and 1 baby sister who is 12 years younger than I.  We grew up on the east side of San Jose, CA.  I lived there for 25 years before moving to Frederick, CO for 6 months – Orlando, FL for 6 months – Austin, TX for 4.5 years – Harlingen, TX for 4.5 years and Houston, TX for over 10 years.   

Someone once told me that if I lived in Texas for over 2 years, I’ll never leave.  I guess I’m Texan now. 

I wanted to get into real estate at the age of 18 but I had no clue how to get started.  At the time, I had no money or credit and I had no friends with money or credit.  I went through the “No Money Down” course by Carlton Sheets six (6) times and still could not understand it.  So, I shelved it.

After injuring my lower back while selling computers at Micro Center, I could not hold a full time job.  It would take me 5 minutes to get from the front door to the back door of my house.  It was a very frustrating time in my life.  I felt useless and hopeless.

I saw the late night infomercials with Carlton Sheets again.  By now, I was almost 28 years.  I bought the course AGAIN.  This time I understand all the instructions and thought it was too easy.  So I went through the course once more, just to make sure I truly got it.

In 6 short months, I purchased 7 properties (2 Duplexes, 2 Fourplexes, and 3 Single family homes while using none of my own money or credit….I had none. 

I put $20K in my pocket while acquiring 2 Duplexes for $480K plus $800/month in CASH FLOW.

Long-story short….

I love using creative techniques to acquire and flip real estate.  I figure that if someone like me (with only a 10th grade education) can do it, anyone can.

Basically, I got started in Creative Real Estate Investing in 2000.

By 2004, I went into real estate development.

In 2009, my mother had a stroke and I took care of her for 5 years.

2014 was when I accidently fell into Coaching.  My first class, I had 20 students.  I lost count as to how many students I had coached since reaching 100 students after the first year.

The next chapter in my life...

Here in 2020, I’m taking real estate investing to the next level by building Assisted Living and Memory Care Facilities from the ground up.  I plan to build 30 of them over the next 5 years.
